Sophia Smith

Sophia is a dancer, teacher and choreographer based in Chicago, IL. She holds a BFA in Dance from The Ohio State University in 2021, with a focus in performance and choreography. During her time at Ohio State, Sophia had the pleasure of performing in several faculty and student created works, including performances in Denmark. In Denmark, she showcased her choreography in Slagelse, Odense, and Aalborg, and also performed in a work choreographed by Daniel Roberts. Most recently, Sophia performed in the opening ceremony of the 9th Saudi Film Festival in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, with Freckled Sky. Sophia has attended various movement intensives to supplement her daily training, including Doug Varone and Dancers Winter Intensive (2022), Deeply Rooted Dance Theater Summer Dance Intensive (2020), ate9 Winter Dance Intensive (2019), and Generation IV Dance (2017-2019). Sophia is honored to be a part of the inaugural season of Niko8!
